Eat, Enjoy & Empower
Rukmini Foundation is collaborating with Bar Marco to host a tasty dinner event that will help to keep underprivileged girls in Nepal in school. Thanks to Bar Marco’s generosity, all proceeds from food sales will go towards supporting our Quality Education, Health & Wellness, and Mentoring programs.
Guest chefs Basu & Laxmi Aryal will prepare a variety of traditional Nepali dishes like Daal Bhaat (Rice and lentils), vegetable curry (cauliflowers and potatoes), Nepali potato salad, chick pea curry, and world famous Momos (Nepali dumplings). There is even talk of a traditional Nepali dessert. Here are some images to whet your appetite.
Chick Pea Curry/Soup – Vegan option (mild spice): Tasty and very healthy.
Lentil Soup (Traditional Nepali side called Dal): Vegan option. Tasty and very healthy as well.
Cauliflower and Potato Curry: A traditional side to a Nepali meal. We should have taken the picture before we dug into this, but we couldn’t resist. Also a vegan option.
Chicken Curry: If you need a little extra protein with your meal, this tasty chicken dish is for you.
Daal Bhaat Tarkari: This is what a traditional Nepali plate looks like (Rice, Lentils, Vegetables and/or Meat Curry)
Mo Mo with sauce: These are traditional steamed Nepali dumplings made with ground chicken, herbs, and spices. You will have a tough time stopping once you start.
Mo-Mo Sauce (Achaar): As if the mo-mos weren’t good enough on their own, this sauce made of sesame seeds, roasted tomatoes, and herbs will make the mo-mo experience one you will want to relive over and over again.
What makes this event even tastier is the fact that the proceeds from food sales will go towards supporting Rukmini Foundation’s quality education, health & wellness, and mentoring programs.
