#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement built by individuals and communities in the US and in countries around the world. It is a day where millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in by donating and fundraising on their behalf. Most of you are probably already familiar with it, so we won’t bore you with that.
What makes this day extra “giving” is that Facebook has a special campaign where it will be matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for US nonprofits, and is also waiving all fees for donations made through Facebook fundraisers.
That’s all great, so what does it mean for you, our supporter? On this day, your help can have double its impact, and you can empower more girls like these:
1. Donate to a fundraiser
If you do not have the time to setup your own fundraiser, you can help us by contributing to an existing one. You can see all of the fundraisers that are created for the foundation at this link.
2. Create your own Fundraiser (it is quite simple)
NOTE: Click through the arrows to see the steps.
To have the biggest impact, please invite your friends to participate
Timing
Donations to nonprofits made through Facebook’s fundraisers on November 28th will be matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit or $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button, until the $2 million in matching funds run out. The match will begin at 8AM EST (5AM PST).
No Fees on 11.28
On 11/28, Facebook is also waiving processing fees for every donation made to nonprofits on #GivingTuesday. Fees will be waived for all of #GivingTuesday, regardless of when the match runs out.
3. Share our story
If creating a fundraiser or donating to one is not possible, simply sharing our cause and maybe giving our foundation page a like will help us get the message out to more people about the power of empowering girls through education.
Regardless of how you support us, we thank you for it because every little bit helps us to educate and empower more girls in Nepal.
Thank you,
Rukmini Foundation Team
