Aakriti Mahat

Aakriti’s life is challenging for a 7th grader. Aakriti lives with her family of seven. Her father, Ram, is a driver and her mother, Indira, is a homemaker. Aakriti’s father has to solely support his family of seven, making their financial situation quite difficult.

Despite financial hardships, she loves school and walks 6 miles every day to go to school and back. She makes this journey hoping to get a good education and a better future. Aakriti’s passion lies in music and she aspires to become a professional singer one day. Unfortunately her family cannot afford to send her to any music classes, but Aakriti hopes that if she does well in school, she may be able to seek out new opportunities to fulfill her dream.
